German politician: N Stream 2 launch possible in April–May 2022
BERLIN, Nov 18 (PRIME) -- Commissioning of the Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline is possible in April–May 2022, because the European Commission will try to delay its certification, Steffen Kotre, member of the German parliament Bundestag from the Alternative for Germany party, told PRIME on Thursday.
“I don’t think that termination of the project is possible and that the Federal Network Agency could stop certification of the Nord Stream 2, but the European Commission will most likely try to delay the process. I don’t expect commissioning of the Nord Stream 2 to happen earlier than next year, possibly in April or May,” he said.
The authorities may involve different environmental unions connected to the left and green political parties in order to attack the project, he said.
